These identical cards outline the order of combat, as described in the rulebook.

These cards describe various conditions that can affect creatures in the game. A player whose character is suffering from a condition can keep the card as a reminder, giving it back to you when the condition ends for that character; either physically with the printed copies, or in a VTT.

Below are all 22 Major Arcana cards that can be pulled in the Fated Tarot Reading, along with Adela Druskenvald's interpretation of the cards, who always pulls the cards in the upright position. You'll also find the Fabled Heirloom or boon that each card corresponds to, as well as where it can be found in The Crooked Moon adventure. For all Fabled Heirlooms, see appendix B.

The following pages describe the meanings of the sixty-six cards in The Deck of Many Things card set. For each card, there's an illustration and a description of the symbols depicted, a summary of the card's overall meaning, and explanations of what the card might signify in both upright and reversed (upside-down) positions. Each position includes five possible signifiers to choose from based on the situation:

Stored in a leather pouch, this unique deck contains twenty-two colored cards made of some strong but unknown metal, each of which features a design printed as a mosaic of raised dots. Before you draw a card, you must declare how many cards you intend to draw and then draw them randomly (you can use an altered deck of playing cards to simulate the deck). Any cards drawn in excess of this number have no effect. Otherwise, as soon as you draw a card from the deck, its magic takes effect. You must draw each card no more than 1 hour after the previous draw. If you fail to draw the chosen number, the remaining number of cards fly from the deck on their own and take effect all at once.

Elder runes are ancient symbols imbued with magical power. With years of study, any creature that can cast the symbol spell can learn an elder rune and add it to the selection of symbols that can be created with the spell. Halaster has spent lifetimes studying elder runes, inventing new ones, and harnessing their volatile magic. He likes to place them throughout Undermountain as hazards.

The Eldritch Moon Cards Deck is a set of cards that represent the Eldritch Moons. If you want to use the Eldritch Moon Cards Deck, fully shuffle the cards, place them face down, and roll 1d4. Draw the top card and set it aside, and then remove all duplicates of the card you just drew from the deck. Then, reshuffle the deck and place it face down. Repeat this process until you have set aside a number of cards equal to the result of the d4. The cards you have set aside represent the Eldritch Moons that will appear during the month. The Eldritch Moon Cards Deck table below shows the number of each card in the deck.

With the Elementals' Path deck, you can embrace your inner fire! This five-color deck is mostly red cards, but it has enough cards of the other colors that your opponents will never know what's coming! The deck's lands and artifacts give you access to any color of mana you need.

The Encounter cards in this deck are designed to provide unexpected and engaging scenarios the characters might stumble upon during overland travel in The Crooked Moon. Before using this deck, take a moment to familiarize yourself with the potential encounters-you'll need to fill in the details based on your campaign's tone and player preferences.
