Class Features

Needle (Level 1)

As a Bonus Action, you can bind to a weapon with which you have proficiency. That chosen weapon becomes your Needle. Only one weapon can function as your Needle at a time. Binding to another weapon will remove your bond to your current Needle.

While you are bound to a Needle, you gain the following abilities:

Eye of the Needle

You have a knack for striking an enemy's weak points. The first time you land an attack with your Needle on your turn, you deal an additional 1d4 damage of the weapon's damage type.

Perfect Parry

You can use your Needle defensively. When an enemy hits you with an attack, you can use your Reaction to make an attack roll using your Needle. If you tie or exceed enemy's attack roll, you negate the incoming attack, though you deal no damage in return. You cannot parry a Critical Hit with this feature.

Silk (Level 1)

Your connection to your ancestors allows you to generate and bind Silk. Your ability to gather and make use of this energy is represented by a number of Silk Spools. Your Weaver level determines the maximum number of Silk Spools you can have, as shown in the Weaver table.

You can spend these points to fuel various Silk Skills. You start knowing one such feature: Bind

Gaining Silk

You gain Silk by successfully striking a "hostile" creature with your Needle. (Whether a creature is "hostile" is determined by your DM.) Doing so restores 1 Silk Spool. Additionally, all of your Silk Spools are restored whenever your character level increases.

Optional: Ancient Wonders

Your DM may allow you to find silk stores, hot springs, or other ancient wonders throughout the world that can replenish your Silk stores.

If you are playing in a low-combat campaign, talk to your DM about ways for your character to consistently regain Silk outside of combat.

Silk Skills

As you gain levels in this class, you will learn Silk Skills. Intelligence is your Silk Skill ability due to the craftiness required to use it to its full potential. You use your Intelligence modifier whenever a feature refers to your Silk modifier. In addition, you use your Intelligence modifier when setting the saving throw DC for an Item or Silk feature you use and when making an attack roll with one.

Silk

Silk

Silk Skills are considered to be spells in reference to other game mechanics. Additionally, the effects of Blue and Yellow Tools are suspended if you are raging or in an antimagic field.

Bind (Level 1)

You have the ability to bind Silk to your body in order to heal your wounds. As an Action, you can spend 5 Silk Spools to bind your wounds with Silk, regaining Hit Points equal to 1d10 + your Weaver level. You may only Bind once per turn.

Swift Step (Level 2)

You gain the following benefits if you aren't wearing Medium or Heavy Armor or using a Shield:

  • Your movement speed increases by 5 feet. Additionally, you can use a Bonus Action to rush up to 10 feet in any direction without taking Opportunity Attacks

  • When you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity saving throw, you can use your Reaction to take no damage on a success rather than half damage.

  • You can determine your jump distance using your Dexterity rather than your Strength

Weaver Subclass (Level 3)

You have learned to focus your power through specialized crests. There are 7 Crests to choose from, with each one focusing on a unique fighting style: Hunter, Reaper, Wanderer, Beast, Witch, Architect, and Shaman.

While these Crests function as traditional subclasses, they differ in that you can swap your Crest during a Long Rest.

Tools (Level 3)

You have mastered the ability to craft Tools for offense and defense. You can now equip Tools as listed in the table for each respective Crest. You can swap your equipped Tools during a Long Rest, and all Tool uses are restored at the end of a Long Rest.

Silk Skills (Level 3)

You have discovered a method of using silk to augment your abilities. Starting at 3rd level, you may use Silk Spools to cast powerful Silk Skills. Pick 3 abilities to unlock now. You learn an additional Silk Skill at 7th, 11th, and 15th level. You can swap known Silk Skills in your Crest when you take a Long Rest.

Ability Score Improvement (Level 4)

You gain the Ability Score Improvement feat (chapter 5 of the PHB) or another feat of your choice for which you qualify. You gain this feature again at Weaver levels 8, 12, and 16.

Silk Heart (Level 4)

You learn how to produce Silk on your own. When you start your turn with fewer Silk Spools than Silk Hearts, you can add 1 Silk Spool to a maximum of 1 (no action required). You gain an additional Silk Heart at Weaver level 8 and 12. You can also see your maximum Silk Hearts in the Silk Heart column of the Weaver Features table.

Extra Attack (Level 5)

You can attack twice instead of once whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

Drifter's Cloak (Level 5)

You have modified your clothing to improve your mobility. When you make a standing or running long jump, you can double the distance.

As a Reaction, you can gain the effects of the feather fall spell, but only on yourself. You can choose to cancel these effects at any time (no action required) rather than waiting the full duration of the spell.

Subclass Feature (Level 6)

You gain a feature from your Weaver Crest.

Vesticrest (Yellow) (Level 6)

You gain a permanent Yellow tool slot regardless of your current equipped Crest.

Claw Grip (Level 7)

You gain a Climb Speed equal to your Speed. You have advantage on (Athletics) checks made to climb a surface with few handholds.

Ability Score Improvement (Level 8)

You gain the Ability Score Improvement feat (chapter 5 of the PHB) or another feat of your choice for which you qualify.

Silk Heart (Level 8)

You learn how to produce Silk on your own. When you start your turn with fewer Silk Spools than Silk Hearts, you can add 1 Silk Spool to a maximum of 1 (no action required). You can also see your maximum Silk Hearts in the Silk Heart column of the Weaver Features table.

Needolin (Level 9)

You gain proficiency with a musical instrument and proficiency in (Performance) checks (or another skill of your choice if you already have proficiency in Performance). The instrument you choose counts as your Needolin for all related features.

While playing your Needolin, you can read the surface thoughts of others similar to the Detect Thoughts spell. You can also spend 1 Silk Spool to cast the Speak with Dead spell.

As a Magic Action on your turn, you can spend 1 Silk Spool to cast the Hold Monster spell. However, you must continue playing the Needolin as a Magic action on subsequent turns to maintain Concentration on the spell. Your movement speed is 0 and you cannot take any Bonus Action or Reaction while playing the Needolin in this way.

Clawline (Level 9)

You can replace one of the attacks from the Attack action to spend 1 Silk Spool to latch onto an enemy or surface up to 15 feet away, pulling yourself towards them in the process. If you latch onto an enemy in this way, you can make a Needle attack. This attack deals an additional 1d6 damage and recovers Silk as normal.

When attacking a Huge or larger creature with this feature, you gain 2 Silk Spools instead.

Subclass Feature (Level 10)

You gain a feature from your Weaver Crest.

Faydown Cloak (Level 10)

You gain resistance to Cold damage and a Fly Speed of 30 feet. You fall to the ground if you end your turn while in the air, although you can negate any fall damage by activating your Drifter's Cloak.

Vesticrest (Blue) (Level 11)

You gain a permanent Blue tool slot regardless of which crest you have equipped.

Ability Score Improvement (Level 12)

You gain the Ability Score Improvement feat (chapter 5 of the PHB) or another feat of your choice for which you qualify.

Silk Heart (Level 12)

You learn how to produce Silk on your own. When you start your turn with fewer Silk Spools than Silk Hearts, you can add 1 Silk Spool to a maximum of 1 (no action required). You can also see your maximum Silk Hearts in the Silk Heart column of the Weaver Features table.

Beastling Call (Level 13)

You have learned a new use for your Needolin. You can spend 1 Silk Spool to cast the Teleportation Circle spell to teleport to the location of your last Long Rest.

Subclass Feature (Level 14)

You gain a feature from your Weaver Crest.

Silk Soar (Level 15)

You have mastered the Clawline. You can now latch on to enemies and surfaces up to 30 feet away. Your bonus damage from your Clawline increases to 2d6.

As an Action, you can spend 1 Silk to launch your Needle vertically up to 150 feet. If your Needle makes contact with a surface or enemy, you can pull yourself up to your Needle as a Bonus Action. You can bring a number of allies with you equal to your Intelligence modifier. You can retract your Needle at any time while using this feature.

Ability Score Improvement (Level 16)

You gain the Ability Score Improvement feat (chapter 5 of the PHB) or another feat of your choice for which you qualify.

Elegy of the Deep (Level 17)

You have developed a new use for your Needolin. You can spend 1 Silk Spool and a minute to cast the Dream spell.

Everbloom (Level 18)

You have gained the means to resist dark forces. You now have advantage on Constitution saving throws; Fiends, Aberrations, and Undead have disadvantage on attacks against you; and you gain resistance to Necrotic damage.

Epic Boon (Level 19)

You gain an Epic Boon feat or another feat of your choice for which you qualify. Boon of Irresistable Offence is recommended.

Sylphsong (Level 20)

A benevolent being has taken up residence inside of you, empowering you with Silk. Whenever you take a Short or Long Rest, you regain all Silk Spools

Casting Time: Action

Range: Self

Components: S, M (a melee weapon worth at least 1 sp)

Duration: Instantaneous

At 5th level, the melee attack deals an extra 1d8 Force damage to the target on a hit, and the Force damage to the second creature increases to 1d8 + your spellcasting ability modifier. Both damage rolls increase by 1d8 at 11th level (2d8 and 2d8) and 17th level (3d8 and 3d8).
