This flat, rectangular device can perform countless personal computing tasks. For example, a Datapad can take text notes, view downloaded data, transfer credits to and from the Galactic Bank, and interface with other devices.
Datapads can interface with one another and Arcane Terminals within a range of 1 mile. Users can communicate with each other using text, audio, or video, and search the contents of any connected Arcane Terminal. Typically, Arcane Terminals on populated worlds are connected together in planetary networks ("nets") which allow a user to comb through a vast, encyclopedic collection of knowledge and provide connection between any two users across the planet.
